Ki gondolná, hogy erről a hamisítatlan francia nagyoperáról sokáig nem akart tudomást venni a párizsi közönség? Pedig így történt; a mű ősbemutatója éppen ezért nem is Franciaországban, hanem – Liszt Ferenc közbenjárásának köszönhetően – Weimarban volt. A hatalmas kórust foglalkoztató, látványos táncjeleneteket – köztük a híres Bacchanáliát is – tartalmazó opera igazi jutalomjáték a rendezők számára, mellyel az új produkciót színpadra álmodó Darko Tresnjak minden bizonnyal élni is fog. A darab középpontjában három monumentális szerep áll, melyet a Met hagyományaihoz híven három világsztár szólaltat meg. Napjaink egyik legnagyobb mezzoszoprán-sztárja, Elīna Garanča számára magától értetődő volt, hogy előbb-utóbb minden mezzoszerepek talán legnagyobbikában, Delilaként is bemutatkozhasson. A másik címszereplő, Roberto Alagna évtizedek óta visszatérő vendége és kedvence a Metnek – emellett pedig specialistája a francia repertoárnak, csakúgy, mint a Dágon főpapját megszemélyesítő Laurent Naouri.

The world premiere of László Dubrovay's dance drama Faust, the Damned took place at Müpa Budapest in 2016, as part of the Budapest Spring Festival. This large-scale production inspired by Goethe's masterpiece debuted on the main stage of the National Theatre of Pécs in the 2023/24 season, and will run again in 2024 at Müpa Budapest's Festival Theatre.
This two-part concert will present the finest and most diverse aspects of the Belgian jazz scene. The Brussels Jazz Orchestra, Belgian's leading big band, will be uniting its powers with the superb saxophonist Philip Catherine, outstanding guitarist Bert Joris and the distinctive singer David Linx to wow the audience as they perform a programme compiled especially for the Bridging Europe festival.
It is probably impossible to summarize this miraculous story of Mowgli, Bagheera who escaped from the cage of the human society, the wise Baloo, the mysterious Kaa or the vengeful Shere Khan. The Jungle Book is about birth and death, solitude and partnership, about the magic of youth – so everything which can happen with a kid who had grown up with wolves.
