The story of the white swan and the black swan is classical ballet itself. And if presenting this ballet of all ballets set to Tchaikovsky wonderful music along with the Opera’s ballet company are young developing dancers, then we can count on piquing the interest of the youngest – kindergarteners and smaller schoolchildren – generation. In a little over an hour, the narrative features the students as it summarises the loveliest moments of the story until the time comes for the actual professional dancers to join in so that we can come face to face with the Prince and the five ethereal Swan Girls who accompany him.
This production features the students of the Hungarian National Ballet Institute and the dancers of the Hungarian National Ballet.

Our offer

It is no secret that Swedish double bass player Anders Jormin and American drummer Joey Baron are two of 2024/25 Artist of the Season Ferenc Snétberger's favourite musical partners.

At their Müpa Budapest concert, they will play both ballads and more up-tempo songs, a total of twenty-four of their greatest hit, like they have never been heard before: in an acoustic, chamber music arrangement accompanied by two vocalists and a piano, violin, cello and flute.

Pursuing happiness, love and affection through countless adventures across this great wide world, but still eventually finding a final peace in the arms of his beloved, Peer Gynt is one of the most complex characters in 19th-century drama. The challenges of staging and absorbing the play are always exceptional tests of strength for the director and the audience.
