In 2023, they received the Artisjus Award, performed countless concerts both within Hungary and throughout Europe, and developed an ever-wider fan base, including the British saxophonist and rapper Soweto Kinch, who is known for his forward-looking and groundbreaking style.

Soweto Kinch is not the only one to think that the music of Emma Nagy and her bandmates contains unique depths. It is also true that neither Kinch and the quartet have any interest in compromise or chasing trends, something that appeals to their listeners. Creating with an experimental spirit, in search of contemporary solutions, yet simultaneously respecting traditions. After founding his first trio in 2001, Kinch has since collected a wide array of recognition, winning an award for Best Breakthrough Star at the BBC Jazz Awards, the White Foundation International Saxophone Competition at the Montreux Jazz Festival, two MOBO Jazz Awards, and two BBC Radio Jazz Awards. Though they are all very different, the members of the Emma Nagy Quintet have from the very beginning been capable of operating as a single whole, each fully respecting the musical ideas of the others. Their compositions feature a balanced mix of hard grooves, free improvisation, melodic contemporary compositions and other alternative elements. After their debut Set to Face (2018) and then Low Frequency Oscillator (2020), their third album, Synced, was released in the spring of 2022. Their most recent album, Return, was released under Morotva Records in 2023. The concert will feature not only their previous compositions, but also some brand new, never-heard-before pieces too, as their more well-known songs receive a fresh new sound thanks to the contribution of Soweto Kinch.
