Cecilia Bartoli is returning to Müpa Budapest! On this occasion she will headline one of the immortal masterpieces from opera history: the 1769 Parma version of Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice, in which the composer assigns the lead role to a male castrato soprano and dispenses with the happy ending. The orchestra, Les Musiciens du Prince-Monaco, operates under the artistic direction of Bartoli herself. Taking on the parts of Euridice and Amore, Melissa Petit signed with the Zurich Opera, where Bartoli also has close ties, after a successful showing at the 2009 Concorso Musica Sacra competition in Rome. Gianluca Capuano won the Abbiati Award for best conductor of the year in 2022.
